    Hi Ashish,

Thanks for commenting. Blogcamp was a lot of fun. Although some of the presentations could have been better.

I would suggest: before focusing on traffic, you should clean up your blog. Make it look good. Maybe buy a dot.com domain name. Then focus on traffic.

The 10 bullet points I shared at the blogcamp is a good place to start after that.

    Hi Ankesh,

I attended your session in BlogCamp Pune; was very informative.

Ia_Tve just started blogging…. I’ve made my blog look good at the moment… will work on the 10 bullets you spoke about. One thing I wanted to ask you is I got a free domain from Co.Nr… Do you think its fine or shall I buy a dot com domain….. And if you recommend me to buy a domain shall I buy the web space as well?

    Thanks.

    Do write to me

    Thanks for asking Jai.

I would recommend spending money on a dot.com domain name over a free co.nr domain name. (I buy all my domain names from moniker.com)

As per hosting, if you are going to use blogger.com - you may not need hosting. Blogger allows mapping of a domain name over your blogspot account so that your readers won’t know your blog is with blogger…
    Read the instructions here:
    http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=55373
(I do recommend WordPress over Blogger - but setting up blogger is easier - and if you are going with WordPress, you will have to buy hosting too - so its your choice.)

    Hi Ankesh,

Thank you for writing back to me. Your recommendations are invaluable to me. I checked for my domain name. “Write2Know.” Unfortunately the dot com is not available… What do you recommend?

    I’m confused

    Please suggesta_?.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ankesh

    I got a domain from moniker. Since write2know wasn’t available. I bought iwrite2know.com
    Ia_Tm mapping now

    Thanks for the information.

I am currently new to the blog universe (2 months old) but have been enjoying your website as of lately.

You want to know a little bit about me???

I was born and still am Profoundly Deaf, this means I can not hear my own voice. I am hoping to be able to build my website as a launching ground to break the communication barrier.

Your website is definately one of my signposts on the Internet superhighway. Congrats, you will not be fired. (Great article on Jack Welsh philosophy)

One of my heroes was almost deaf too. Thomas Alva Edison. Yet he achieved great things. I’m sure greatness lies in you too. Best of luck with your blog.

Ankesh, thank you for this plugin.

Two questions, please. First, is there any way to redirect the PayPal link to a donations page so people wanting to donate do not have to register for PayPal? (Please be gentle, I have virtually no technical skill).

Second, how does one donate to you? I saw no link on this page!

  18. Ankesh Kothari wrote:

Jane: Thanks for asking. Here is how you solve your problem: log in to your PayPal.com account. Go to “Profile” and then click on “Website Payment Preferences” (under “selling preferences” column.) Over there - select “On” - for “PayPal Account Optional.”

By doing that, people can donate without having a PayPal account.

Thanks for thinking about donating to me too :). If you would like to donate because you liked the plugin, I suggest that you go to the “Beer Plugin” page and click on the “buy me a beer” link under the post. All the donations made from that page go to my programmer who did the actual coding and bought my idea to life.
