You know, NameCheap is pretty good too. They offer free WhoIs Guard when you register a new domain, and even after that the service is only like 3 bucks a year or something like that.

Yep, I've been using GoDaddy as well. I hear Monicker is another good service though. Another good one you might want to look into if you are looking for a domain registrar is Proud Domains.

I've been using GoDaddy for a while now and I haven't had any problems with them. They're the only registrar I have tried so I really can't compare them to any other service. I guess perhaps I'll try another registrar to compare and contrast.

Mark: Thanks. As far as I know 1and1.com changes prices frequently. So a domain may be $5.99 now - but next year, the renewal prices may be very high. (I had bought a .info domain from them for $1 or so - but the renewal was $9-10 - more than what other registrars charge.) Moniker on the other hand is very consistent with their prices. They raise their prices only when ICANN raises its prices.

I don't know, Ankesh, I think 1and1.com offers more for less. They offer domains at cheaper prices. Right now a .com is $5.99. Next month they'll go up to $6.99, but that's still cheaper than others I've seen. Plus, they offer FREE private registration.

Perhaps Moniker offers something different that goes beyond these selling points?
